Keith Silver is a man of purpose. A native Washingtonian, and proud DC Public School, Anacostia High School Class of 1971 and Graduate of Antioch Law School, Paralegal Class of 1978.
Keith was born and raised in Washington, D.C. As a youngster, Keith learned quickly about the challenges growing up in a segregated city and was committed to making his voice heard. Keith became involved in community change at an early age following the WashDC Riots in 1968 working with the WashDC/SCLC, local Chapter through Rev. Walter E. Fauntroy, Dr. Henry Silva, and others. He also was involved in school sports as a 2nd String, "backup" 2nd Baseman, in 1970 and 1971 Championship Teams at Anacostia High School while at the same time volunteering with Wash DC / SCLC and New Bethel Baptist Church.
After graduating from High School, at the young age of 19, Keith, was one of 8, Graduating Students, Selected by C and P Telephone "Affirmative Action, where he served a total of 4 years of distinguished service. His first 2 years were with C&Ps Lincoln Central Office and his second, two years he was Promoted to "Lineman" and at that time, was the "youngest" African-American, serving in that position, do to lack of hiring Blacks to that position. A Relentless Warrior for community Empowerment and Economic Justice
After graduating from Keith earned his Paralegal "Certification" in December 1978, from Antioch School of Law, (now evolved into UDC's Dave Clark, School of Law) "Certification" with Focus on Civil and Entertainment Law. Shortly after graduation from Antioch Law School, Paralegal Class of 1978 In Spring of 1981, Keith then moved to Atlanta, for 8 years, working in the National Office of SCLC working with President Joseph E. Lowery's Administration, and volunteering also with the MLK Center of Non-Violent Social Change, Founded by Mrs. Correta Scott King.
Keith found his passion in working in the Public and Community arena having served 4 Terms, as ANC Commissioner, 3-terms ANC Commissioner 6C-01 , and one (1) year in 5B-05 He served successfully championing "Community Empowerment' both Single Member Districts. He also campaigned to successfully, to bring "Jobs" and to impacted Residents his (SMD) Single Member District 6C01, with the Community Establishment that does business there, specifically, (Partial Listing) Walmart, Safeway, Bus Boys and Poets, to name a few

Keith's passion for people has been the impetus for his more than 40 years of servant leadership as a Community Activist, MLK Peace Walk, Co-Founder, ANC Commissioner. Known as a man of integrity, the Community Leaders, and People that make up the inner city of Washington, DC trust Keith, to put "People Over Politics" for the betterment of our community – a community where we ALL can be proud to live, work, and worship. He has worked leading the charge for the people he has represented in both ANC Single Member Districts, he has humbly represented. Silver states, I gratefully thank "Voters" that have placed their confidence and trust in me to bring strong leadership and the honest representation of their values to the table, in previous terms, and "I vow to each and every one of you, to continue to do just at the DC Council level"
Keith has served "With Distinction as a National Staff Member to SCLC, The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, in President Joseph Lowery Administration, of which the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was the founding President. Keith has organized or assisted in the coordination of numerous protests, marches, and demonstrations in and around, the Greater Washington Area, up to this present day. (space) Keith has also served as a Special Assistant to the Honorable Congressman, Walter E. Fauntroy, and Media Activist Joe Madison.Keith is very well versed in Media and Public Relations having served as Community Assistant to the world-renowned R&B group, The Temptations founding Member, The Legendary Eddie Kendrick from 1982, through Oct. 5, 1992 upon his passing due to Lung Cancer.(space) Keith has also served on the DC Council staff of the late Honorable Wilhelmina Rolark, Councilmember Ward 8, who Chaired the Judiciary Committee. Additionally, Keith was the "last person" hired by Dr. Cavin W. Rolark, Sr. Additionally, he has served from 1992 through 2018 with the United Black Fund, Inc. working for all three Presidents of UBF., Dr. Calvin Rolark, Sr. , Honorable Wilhelmina J. Rolark, and Barry LeNoir.
No Stranger To Community Activism and Community Organizing
Keith, is no stranger to community activism having served from 1999 to August 17, 2017, for 18 years, as Community Assistant, world-renowned Human and Civil Rights Activist, the Great and Honorable Dick Gregory.
Keith states, "my commitment" to "public service" has led me to some truly unbelievable and remarkable assistant positions and associations, ... with "individuals of the highest order of integrity, and ethical conduct" which I try, daily, to emulate. ... and has fully qualified me ... the seek the position as "At-Large Councilmember of the District of Columbia!"

Working for DC Council integrity
Keith, like most Washingtonians, is concerned about the challenges of Integrity with the D.C. Council. He is equally concerned about housing displacement and homelessness. As a DC City Councilmember, Keith will work on issues of access, equity, and a commitment to a shared "Quality-of-Life Issues" for all residents of Washington, D.C.
As your At-Large, DC City Councilmember, he will address the top priority issues of our city, including, DC Council Integrity and accountability, economic development, housing, and the adverse impact of gentrification, education, healthcare, poverty, diversity and inclusiveness, public safety, infrastructure, budgets that address poverty, youth Services, senior Services, drug and alcohol addiction, clean energy and reducing plastic pollution throughout metro Wahington, D.C.
As a progressive activist, facilitator, organizer, and strategic planner, Keith knows how to build inclusive coalitions, create progressive policies, advocate for his constituents, and work throughout all D.C. neighborhoods.
He is a problem solver, and he wants to be your problem solver.
